International Media Solutions LLC has over a decade of experience in the international development field, with a particular focus on new media development in conflict and post-conflict countries. Owner, Michael Clarke, began his career in 1998 serving three years as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Turkmenistan. Since then he has worked on projects throughout the Balkans, Central Asia, East Africa, and the Middle East. Prior to founding International Media Solutions, Michael managed a $24,000,000 portfolio of Iraqi media development projects including the U.S. Department of State funded Media and Technology for Community Development (MTCD) program and the Media and Civil Society for Transparent Governance (MCSTG) program in an effort to advance Iraq's independent media and civil society. Michael has completed Hostile Environment Training where he gained valuable knowledge to be able to identify and correctly assess risks to safety and security while living and working in areas that may be volatile.
Michael holds a Masters in Journalism with a focus on convergent and new media from Georgetown University where he was awarded the Orfalea Family Foundation Scholarship for Investigative Reporting, and a Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs from Northern Arizona University. |
